Dear Lamb Friends,
What an incredible season we are in! I feel the heart and hand of God moving to bring forth His Son like never before. So many things that were deep teachings about the Lamb to me are now being challenged in my circumstances, and I know this is the great goodness and care of my Father! He is taking all that knowledge and wonderful teaching and replacing it with the Person of Jesus as Life. I thank God for this refining season where God is doing His most wonderful work of all... bringing forth His Son. My personal heart is to experientially know Him in the many opportunities that life brings, and call none of it “Strange Fire” (I Peter 4:12). Though I fail many times, I know the Father is faithful to His Son that is in us, and I know the Son that is in us is faithful to His Father. The greatest thing that could ever be said of our lives is that the Lamb came forth in His nature to the joy of the Father's heart and blessing to others. Not I, but Christ.
This precious poem written by Carolyn Allan was printed and handed out for our local fellowship at this year’s Easter/Passover service. I recently found it in a pile of papers in my office, and as I read through it again the Spirit of God arrested my heart… and my heart says, “Yes Lord.”
Trust Through Purification
“Is my faith and trust in You enough to go through whatever You deem fit to put me through? Is my faith and love enough that I can tell You with no reservation, “Do as You will and desire with me unto death, no longer I but You?” Let it be so Lord!
Oh, Holy Spirit prepare my heart for such a time my Lord desires to put me through the fire to be purified for Him! Help me not to allow any “self” come between what You desire to do in me for Your glory, for the desire of Your heart.”
I believe this season of “trust through purification” is real for many of us right now. God is doing a deep work in us, and it doesn't always feel good but it SURE IS WORTH IT!! “Blessed are the people that know the joyful sound; they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of Your beautiful face!” (Psalm 89:15)
Let’s pray for one another with fervent love. Only God knows the deep work He is doing in our brothers and sisters all over the world, and how precious our faith and love is to travail with them until Christ is formed.
It seems as if God is challenging my “notion” of the slaughtered Lamb in many ways. I am finding that the beautiful teaching of the Lamb that causes my heart to adore Him is far from intimately knowing that nature in real life fiery trials. It is in the midst of these situations that the Father is challenging my heart to reach past adoration of the Lamb to truly count Him more precious than my own life. To the Hebrews of old, a sacrificial lamb was not a doctrine or teaching, but a living breathing defenseless little lamb they would offer up, and as it was being sacrificed, behold it in its dying. And yet even that was still a shadow. How can we begin to fathom His true beauty the heart of the Father who gave up His Son to such a death? Could my heart be truly written upon with what the Father went through as His most precious Son was torn and marred and crucified? What would it be like in real ways to behold the beauty of this Lamb as He manifests in my daily walk? Does my heart really understand such love and in my daily walk do I recognize and honor that this Lamb is really in me and wants to be offered in that same flow of love? Oh Lord, our hearts cry out!
May our faith and expectation be in Christ alone. He lives in a body made of weak earthen vessels that are filled with the treasure of a Lamb who always gives Himself. This little selfless and slaughtered Lamb overcomes everything as he sweetly gives His lifeblood with no struggle or resistance. We are not that way, but the One Who is within us is. May we travail to bring Him forth. Thank you for your prayers, your love, and most of all… your hearts to put Jesus first at all costs. He is worthy, worth it, and it is with unspeakable joy that is full of glory that we are granted the privilege of being with Him in the things that mean most to His heart. Let’s give Him our love and He will give us His Life.
Due to the virus, we will not be planning any mission trips to Ireland until it is safe to travel and gather, with the possibility having of our Ireland Spring conference in 2022. Even though there are unknown factors, we can still release our faith for what is in the Lord’s heart for the young people who may be coming to Ireland on this Young Adults' Retreat in July 2022. May this next generation know Him in ways beyond all we have known, to the glory of the Father.
